This was the best hospitality we have ever had. The cook and chashier was super sweet to our kids making sure they had food they liked. The food was delicious and big portions. We had goat and chicken with unique rice it was so aromatic, you could smell jasmine as it cooked:). It was a differnt flavor palate, but in a great way, not so foreign that the average person couldn't enjoy it. and somosas were yummy with light curry. The hot green sauce were unique and so good on the rice. And my son and i loved the mango drink also. My kids liked the food also and they are under 5, but green sauce is to spicey for kids, otherwise not spicey food just yummy.
I had an excellent lunch here--this is an under-appreciated gem for Syracuse. We had the beef suqaar (saucey meat and vegetables stew) with anjero (stretchy sourdough flatbread) and goat with rice. Both were very large portions and very flavorful--the Somali rice was an excellent flavorful dish in its own right, not an afterthought. Both dishes came with a small side salad, a spicy herb sauce, and a mild aioli. The Somali milk tea was also perfect, sweet and fragrant with spices. We left very full, very happy, and with leftovers! We will be back for sure. I highly recommend. Please note that they do close for all of Ramadan each year.
Wonderful food and very kind service. Helped step us through the menu and had pictures to accompany Somali names of dishes. Absolutely delicious!
Fresh food. Great people. Anjera with chicken is very good, and they have a wide variety of options.
Excellent wholesome Somali food. Friendly service. Samosas. Chapati and beef. And excellent chicken wraps. Mango juice was amazing too. So much flavour and reasonable prices. We will definitely come again.
This place is on my block and I’m glad it is! I had a night I was home alone so I went there. The owner was very nice in helping me understand my choices. The chicken sequaar was very good and the solmolian rice was delicious. I got some homemade hot sauce which was awesome but hot! Mango juice was outstanding and a must when you come here. The chicken somosa was excellent!
The staff was very friendly. I was offered samples of each protein as this was my first time dining here. I went with the goat, rice and banana! The Basbaas was delicious with a very subtle heat. I also had a mango juice that was quite nice. I definitely recommend!
First time trying Somali food and it did not disappoint, food was amazing. The service was great too!
